Winter is the perfect time to sharpen your technique, build strength, and tie it all together with weekly on-water sessions. It’s the season when champions are made — and when new paddlers discover how fun and rewarding dragon boating can be. Dragon Boat ERG Classes

Starting October 14 to February 26 (Xmas week off).

P-erging is like paddling on land! It helps refine your stroke, build strength and endurance, and track your progress in a controlled setting. It’s a fun way to stay fit, sharpen technique, and keep connected throughout the winter season.

What you will learn:

  • Proper posture in the boat
  • How to use your heels & hips
  • Getting down on the stroke
  • Sit up
  • Proper technic to feel your body
  • Air time
  • Patience with your stroke

  • Exit
  • Mid-stroke and much more!

COST: Tuesdays (20 weeks) $300 or Thursdays (18 weeks) $270.

One hour session once per week

Must take full classes for:

  • Progression
  • Consistency

Class size: 4 to a group

Payment in full or arrangements can be made for half and ¼ payments

Winter Paddling

Try out dragon boat paddling!
Saturdays starting in October • 10:00-11:30am
Just $100 for 24 weeks!

Come for a paddle on Saturday mornings on beautiful Newcastle Channel and give dragon boating a try. Everyone is welcome. No experience necessary as we will teach you all you need to know. PFD's and all equipment are available or bring your own.

Fall/Winter Fitness classes

Looking to build strength this off-season? Join our Fall/Winter Fitness (Make Muscle) sessions with trainer Chris Joseph. Strength training is a key part of dragon boating — it builds the power, endurance, and injury resistance you need to paddle stronger and longer.

  • Payment may be made in full or in two installments (second installment due October 8).
